“Take the Stress out of Christmas!”

 

Visit COOK’S BARN where Michelin-starred Chef David Chambers will demonstrate how to cook your Christmas dinner in less than 3 hours!

 

David Chambers…. “I’m not suggesting that I teach you how to cook Christmas dinner although that will be the end result—it will be more about how to cook it in a different and exciting way to save time and effort so you can enjoy that special day without the usual stress of trying to feed an army.  2 Hours is all the time I will spend in the kitchen on Christmas morning – and that includes dessert!”

“Here are the dishes I will demonstrate and teach you how to prepare in advance so that you can enjoy your meal - whether you are feeding a family of 4 or a party of 12 merry-makers (and there won’t be a dry turkey breast or chewy leg in sight!)

 

 

The Christmas Menu

 

Salmon Marinated with Chablis and fresh herbs

 Fresh Prawn Cocktail in a Brandy Marie Rose Sauce

 

A Traditional Roast Turkey (but not prepared the traditional way) with Delicious Chestnut Stuffing

and 

A Succulent Roast Goose as a mouth-watering alternative

 

A selection of Seasonal Vegetables including

Braised Red Cabbage and roast potatoes

 

Hot Chocolate Fondant Pudding

(A delightful alternative to Christmas pudding.)

 

Detailed recipes will be provided for you to take home with you to help make your Christmas lunch a culinary masterpiece that will be a joy to cook.


When?             Sunday 6th December 2009 at 10.30 for 11.00am until ????

Where?           Cook's Barn, Whitelands Farm, Newmarket Road, Bottisham, CB25 9BD

Itinerary;          Coffee, tea and croissants will be served on arrival.

Chef Chambers will start at 11.00am with a short talk giving an overview of the whole proceedings before preparation and cooking begins.  Several guests will be invited to assist in the preparation to give hands-on experience as well.

You will get to try all the food when it is ready and during the demonstration there will be nibbles to appease the hunger pangs that the wonderful cooking smells will no doubt bring.

Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available from the bar from 12.00 noon onwards.

The day will end with a question and answer session with Chef Chambers and there is no time limit if you are enjoying a drink and a chat or a networking session in our relaxed, friendly and atmospheric location.

Price?              Usual price £90 per person……..  but as a special price to celebrate our continuing success at Cook’s Barn as a venue for “Foodies” dispite the recession, tickets have been reduced by half to £45 per person.  Tickets available online through Eventbright or by calling 01223 810840 to check availability (all major credit and debit cards accepted) or send your cheque for £45 per person to Cook’s Barn at the above address (cheques to be made payable to CALDO to be received by 31st November).
